- The state cluster NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonics.NRW (NMWP.NRW), based in Düsseldorf,
acts on behalf of the public sector. - Established in 2009 as part of the Excellence Initiative of NRW to strengthen the state's position in the fields of the key enabling technologies (KETs) nanotechnology, microtechnology,
advanced materials and optical as well as quantum technologies. - The cluster brings together stakeholders from industry, science and politics, for example by organizing specialist conferences, joint exhibition stands at trade fairs in Germany and abroad, or by initiating workshops on selected topics.
- NMWP.NRW is a partner in the Interreg project ‘Manufacturing Next Materials’ (MNM, duration 16.11.2023 to 15.11.2027), conducted by the Dutch coordinator Oost NL
- NMWP.NRW helps to identify and bring together further players in the network's target field.
- Identification of latest trends and developments in the high-tech-sector (KETs, digitization, etc…)
- Knowledge transfer from science into industrial application
- Strengthen competitiveness and innovativeness of North Rhine-Westphalia
