Values outweight numbers: More awareness and safer spaces for female empowerment

At innos, we promote female empowerment, reflected not only in the total number of female innosians but also in the fact that management positions are driven majorly by women.

However, female empowerment is a process that is not only defined by figures and quotas in employment relationships but should also be actively promoted. When discussing equal opportunities, we emphasize the need to create a common sense of awareness of both individual and collective needs. Above all, this requires awareness and safe spaces.

For this reason, we participated in a workshop led by Silvana Mangold from Coaching for Revolution, primarily for women. In the four hours, I learned a lot about myself and my female colleagues. What can we do to feel more confident in our professional and private lives? What should we pay attention to to better protect ourselves and others?

In our open discussions, I realized that many of us have already experienced difficult and cross-border situations. As much as these experiences unite us, they can also be very individual, as everyone processes them differently. First and foremost, it is crucial to be aware of your boundaries to recognize problematic situations. This exchange in a small and intimate group requires a certain amount of trust in each other but also shows that you are not alone and how important it is to be mindful of each other.

In addition, we tried verbal, physical, and mental techniques to help us get out of situations in which we feel uncomfortable or unsafe more quickly and safely. The exercises ranged from appropriate body language and verbal conflict resolution to self-defense techniques.

This workshop covered all areas of our lives, from office life to leisure activities. I am proud to work in a company that is unwaveringly committed to providing a safe and empowering environment. At innos, female empowerment is not just a buzzword but a reality that fosters mindfulness, appreciation, and individual development, propelling us further in our professional and private lives.

I am excited about the continuous exchange with all innosians. The upcoming events on the topic of female empowerment are already on the calendar, and I look forward to your active participation and valuable insights.

You can only live out your full creativity where you feel safe and valued!
