Six weeks, lots of learning: my internship in event management at innos

Over the past six weeks, I was able to complete an internship at innos in Berlin and can look back on an incredibly exciting, varied and instructive time.

I mainly worked in event management and had the opportunity to look into many different areas. One particular highlight was definitely the Testival in Saint-Genis-Pouilly in France at the beginning of June, where I was able to support the team on site. From preparation to implementation and follow-up, I gained valuable insights into event organisation and above all experienced how much teamwork, effort and enthusiasm (and stress resilience!) are behind a successful event.

In addition to the event sector, I was also able to gain experience in other areas: I helped out a bit in the marketing and design team, learnt more about finance and accounting - perhaps not my great passion, but now I have a better understanding of what goes into it! I have also supported numerous planning and coordination processes, such as the optimisation of internal processes or external events. As an observer in official meetings, for example with board members and managing directors, it was particularly exciting for me to gain an insight into strategic decision-making in companies and committees.

What I will remember particularly positively during this time is the innos team. I felt welcome from day one and was able to work with incredibly helpful, open and kind people. Every single person in my event management team and beyond continuously went out of their way to involve me on a daily basis to make me feel part of the whole. The relaxed flexibility yet highly committed and efficient way of working at the innos office has impressed me greatly and given me a guideline of what I envision for my future. Such a modern, international and sustainable office culture will hopefully become the standard and norm for most companies.

I have learnt an incredible amount from these six weeks: professionally, interpersonally and personally.

A huge thank you to the entire innos team for their trust, support and the wonderful time. I'm already looking forward to seeing you again soon!
