Cooperation as the key to
e-mobility: How committee work drives innovation

This week, innos attended the General Assembly and Steering Committee meetings of CharIN e.V. in Berlin. The General Assembly takes place once a year as a members’ meeting, whilst the Steering Committee meets four times a year to facilitate ongoing strategic dialogue, coordinate key developments, agree on priorities and drive the further development of standards and initiatives. Numerous representatives from industry, energy suppliers, charging infrastructure and politics engaged in intensive discussions on the challenges and opportunities of electric mobility for heavy-duty vehicles. The exchange made it clear that innovation only has an impact when cooperation, commitment and open dialogue come together.

Committee work as a driver of innovation

Formal meetings such as the General Assembly or Steering Committee meetings may seem bureaucratic at first glance. In reality, they are at the heart of network management. It is only through these structured formats for exchange that members’ needs can be understood, common priorities defined and innovation driven forward.

Topics of interest

The meetings focused on the following points, amongst others:

Energy security, grid stability and the resilience of energy infrastructure:

V2G technologies are driving the discussion on how electromobility can contribute to creating stable and resilient energy systems.

Integrating new industries

A resilient e-mobility system looks beyond road vehicles. Sectors such as water and air transport, logistics and construction should be taken into account at an early stage in order to develop a holistic, future-proof overall system.

Ensuring interoperability

With a growing number of solutions, providers and technologies, it is crucial that systems work together reliably. Only through cooperation and tested standards can usage remain manageable and practical for consumers and regulatory authorities.

innos as a partner for network management

innos provides operational and technical support to associations and networks. We ensure that discussions are structured, relevant stakeholders come together, and joint solutions are derived from different perspectives. Through methodological input and targeted facilitation, a productive exchange emerges that has an impact beyond the meetings themselves.

Formal structures as a basis for change

The week at CharIN has once again demonstrated that formal bodies are crucial for progress and innovation. It is only through exchange, collaboration and continuous networking that sustainable momentum is generated, which drives the industry forward and propels change in the economy.
