How innos is supporting decarbonization in California: Vehicle Interoperability Testing Symposium (VOLTS)

innos has won the California Energy Commission's request for proposals to host a large-scale Vehicle Interoperability Testing Symposium (VOLTS) 2022/2023 – thanks to a dedicated innos bid process, the support of the CharIN community and a reliable partner network in the USA.

California is considered a pioneer in the US when it comes to decarbonizing the economy.

CO2-neutral mobility is at the top of the agenda and the rapid expansion of charging infrastructure for electrically powered vehicles is becoming a key task. However, infrastructure alone is not enough; communication between the vehicle and the charging station must be ensured, regardless of the manufacturer. To ensure a seamless customer journey, a common standard and its flawless implementation are needed. Conducting large-scale interoperability tests are a crucial tool on this path to identify gaps in the standard and close them together in a collaborative approach.

VOLTS will not just be another interoperability test, but will lead the way for the rapid rollout of electric mobility in California and beyond. The knowledge required for this will be generated and harnessed due to a docked conference with 1000 experts.
